Spinning: Humming Urban Stereo - Space Loves Disco
Recess week was disgusting because I spent it all on projects and assignments. The birthday this year was a low-key, homey affair because I was stuck at home rushing an assignment on the day itself. Not that I minded. Here's why:

My family and I had a simple dinner at Soup Kitchen. It's another one of those restaurants I love because it serves traditional cantonese soup, which I am a sucker for. Their signature dish was their chicken wrapped in cabbage, or something like that. That lady beside me is my sister, if you're wondering who's that. I know, we don't really look alike.

My birthday cake was Chocolate Dream. Or something to that effect. It was yummilicious. Had slices of bananas stuffed inside the cake. I stuffed myself silly with my own birthday cake, but can you blame me?

There's my entire family.

And yes, my dogs get to be in the photographs too! Its really weird, 'cos everytime someone celebrates his/her birthday in my household, the dog's get their photos taken too!

I was laughing behind those clasped palms 'cos I was secretly wondering how to extinguish all 10 candles at one go.

My ditzy Mom and my cam-lovin sister.

Finally, there's my 70 over year old aunt/nanny. She's the closest relative my siblings and I have outside of our nucleated family. She's the one I have to thank for imparting basic Chinese Language, Hokkien and Cantonese language skills to me. She's like a grandma to me, basically.
My cousins from KL, M'sia also came down to Singapore for a visit. They shopped like hell :) We'd earlier celebrated a baby cousin's birthday; he's really cheeky and adorable! Ask him to smile and he'd stretch his mouth and bare his teeth. Yep, that's his idea of a smile.
Cousins Phyllis and Jasmine also surprised me with their gift, an immaculately design-heavy journal. Now that I have it, I can't bear to use it as a ratty organizer because I know I hate organizers. They remind me of what I have to do, (work, in other words) constantly. So I've decided to use it as a personal journal of sorts, to pen down all my thoughts and random musings. Not really a diary, but just well, something to store all my more personal thoughts in.
Thanks to those who wished me Happy Birthday too! You guys made my recess week a little more bearable! To Fion, Shirley, Rosanne and Xiuyu, who were my project groupmates for the recess week, thank you for your surprise gift that came in the form of a furry Stitch pillow. I never saw it coming :)
