I've been wanting to post for a couple of times now, but was held back by the sheer lack of time, and partly also because my hands were bound by certain sensitive issues.
Today's post will be a short one.
Let's look at a scenario. You bump into an acquaintance - someone whom you interacted with extensively for a short period of time, say, in a camp/ex-school /ex-workplace/everywhere else really and things were fine and dandy then. Distance and time, however, compelled the both of you to not keep in contact for a long time. But then you see him/her again. You think, "Oh, dear, what am I going to do? Am I going to say hi? Or pretend I didn't see him/her? Or basically act like I have amnesia and stare blankly at him/her?"
(Personally, I'd usually choose the first; to go up to the person and say hello. )
Assuming you're the sort who would go up to the person to say hello. What if, then, the person recognizes you, but does not seem particularly pleased about seeing you. He/she snubs you, barely slips in a hello, and says that he/she's really gotta go. He/She then strolls off to the place that she REALLY has to get to in a hurry.
What would you do, and how would you feel?
I'm just curious, lah. Its just one of those awkward (sometimes common) social situations where people's reactions/responses differ and I'm just being nosy.
