I'm feeling incredibly accomplished having completed something at last whilst studying outside with Rachel, so, yay. I'm lurking around on messenger too, but since there's no one online to entertain me or for me to entertain, I'm going to entertain myself, as well as you surreptitious readers (I hope to, anyway.) Following in the footsteps of Isaac, Zhu Hui, and Rachel, today's post is going to be a crowdpleaser for a certain group of people. I've always talked about how amazing my class is, and I can assure you it's not all empty talk. Introducing 35/05; and how apt, too, since the last official day of school was 2 days ago. In alphabetical order (according to surname):
Amanda - The one who works hard, and plays hard! Apart from sharing the same birthday as me, she also has this fascination with the Final Fantasy series on console, only her fascination is even deeper than mine. Mine has faded away with time and I'm no longer thrilled by Squall and co. Also a TV Freak, am I right? A frequent lurker on Messenger. Most likely to be... the one who balances work and play the best.
Huiwen - The only swimmer in our class, and has this amazing penchant for clearing make-up PEs, Haha! She once ran 8 (I think - it could be more!) rounds consecutively round the track to clear a few makeup PEs at one go, and she came back in one piece! Has a mostly smiley face and pleasant laughter, esp when with her other friends Nav, and SY. Most likely to be... a sportswoman, or a triathlete.
Pam Chia - She has a thang for pink, I swear. Everything about her is pink, even her cheeks! Haha! But don't kill me pam - I'm saying you're in the pink of health! Lovably ditzy, and I sometimes miss her whining during the hols... HAHA DON'T KILL ME! And of course, the favourite target of Ivan when it comes to teasing. Likes to click her tongue, and dance. Right not right not!!! Most likely to be... happily married with a coupla kids running around and pissing her off.
Clara - She and Grace make a formidable pair. If you hang around them too much you'll go crazy because you're definitely going to be influenced by their wacky behaviour. When I see Grace and her walking together from the back, I always think they look like cute hamstery best buds. Laughs a lot and her laughter is quite infectious. Makes you feel good by laughing at just about anything. And I remain amazed at her ability to read 'Economist' type books and NOT fall asleep. Most likely to be... 'HAI YAH' - kicking career woman!
Doris - In my POV she is quiet, but I'm very sure there's more to her than meets the eye. Since we're not really close I can only guess she's the type who speaks up when needed and who has very strong principles in life. Never fails to pop a 'hi' to me, and a familiar smile will materialize. Most likely to be... ??? I realy want to know, as well. Maybe another 'HAI YAH' kicking lady too?
Elkes - Aha, the dancer who grooves really, amazingly well. I mean it because when I see her dance I feel like learning how to, as well. :) Is very outspoken and frank, and at the same time a very encouraging classmate. Your concern for others is really appreciated, Elkes!! Has a megawatt smile, too, along with Raf, Vanessa, and Mabel (Ya la you are photogenic. :P) Most likely to be... a dancer, or an outspoken lawyer? hehe.
Su Xin - I promise she's amazingly weird as heck. She's always going 'happy birthday' to Mab, and she's always going 'yokeypoodle' to me. Like which part of me looks like a poodle huh?! Not that I mind anyway; it has an affectionate ring to it. Anyway, SX's one very intelligent girl, and as far as I've heard, a budding singer - you rock the karaoke world man. Most likely to be ... on the next Singing talent show we have in Singapore! Better get her autograph while she's free!
Grace - As I said, she and Clara are peas in the same pod. Same sense of warped humour, same height, and haha I like her 'eh what what what??' (kaypoh) tone when she asks about what's going on. Fun ah, Grace. Nuff' said! Must read with reference to Clara's paragraph. Most likely to be... the one who gets kicked for saying'Wah FUN AH' at the most inopportune moments. HEH HEH!
Rafidah - Oooh I love those dimples Raf! Another photogenic girl who looks good from every angle, lah. Megawatt smile again! Plus, she's a budding photographer whose pictures are very very promising! Not to forget someone who really loves art and craft, esp the latter. Sweet and unassuming girl. Most likely to be .... a shutterbug!
Isaac - Mr. Artist Extraordinaire #1. Eccentric guy who loves to make weird faces just to crack Amande up during Geography lessons. Contorts his face this way and that to make Amande laugh till the cows come home. Also IMO one who thinks a lot - introspective - but not introverted. Friendly and always says 'hi'. - You would think I judge people on whether you say 'hi' or not, but actually, no lah. Got lovely pen drawing skills. Love his Italian City sketch. Beeeeyoootifool! Most likely to be ... somewhere in the Arts field, drawing up a storm with his gorgeous artwork.
Ivan - Mr Artist Extraordinaire #2. The number doesn't stand for ranking, okay. They're just that - numbers. I love this Ivan's portraits. They're so life-like, you'd want to reach out and touch the subjects he draw. Has an acute sense of design and colour and art... I saw his 'A' Level Coursework and went o_o. Another introspective one whom, I feel, expresses what he feels through Art. Another frequent lurker on Messenger. Most likely to be... an Economist, since he's so pro-Economics. He scoffed at me when I dropped that subject! Sheesh! Haha, and also the person whom I'd go to to draw my portrait. I'll pay lah.
Jean - Ah, 'Awesome!' Jean - ever the Queen of Sarcasm. Never fails to amuse me when she starts on her mock-sarcasm tirade; and GETS AWAY WITH IT! Talks really fast and makes you want to keep up, keep up with her quick thinking. A Math genius although she denies it. Of course she works hard! "AWESOME!" and her laugh... I'll never forget it. *shudder* Most likely to be ... a columnist who gets famous for her snarkiness. Hahaha!
RJ Kee - I'm so tickled by her surname! Anyway, another eccentric weirdo who goes around harassing Su Xin and ZH. Likes to deadpan a lot, and crack sick jokes. Has a lovely dog whom Isaac is in love with - and her name is 'Spring'. Lovely dog, she. Intelligent one who has a passion for Lit. Most likely to be ... President/CEO of Kee Corporation
Amande - Not seeing double! Her name is Amande with the 'e'! Wacky woman who laughs at just about anything - so much so her booger starts peeking out of her nose. Her laughter is infectious - in the sense that if you hear her laugh you'll laugh at her laughing. Her favourite phrase? "You very cute lah, (insert name)." Another one whose laughter I won't forget, and I will miss it so very much. Most likely to be ... Leader of the Yaya sisterhood.
Xiaoting - One of my good friends in class, very child-like and has laughter that makes your hair stand. Likes Korean Dramas and is very much in love with a certain Mr Chou... Another Karaoke lover and is famous for her inverted spectacles :) Most likely to be ... Another happy mother with kids running around. Heh heh!
Mabel - Mabel the fable! OK I just had to do that. Yet another one of my good friends - exotic looking, with an excellent sense of style and fashion. Amazingly white teeth too, so much so I feel like drawing on them just to see the contrast. Megawatt teeth and she sure knows how to use them, because she LOVES to camwhore. My camera has been attacked already. Very in tune with her emotions. Most likely to be ... high flying lawyer/marketing executive
Zhu Hui - OR JU HWEE.... as a certain Mrs. L loves to say. Very good at rattling off quotes ( I don't know how she manages to even remember) from Shakespeare. Has a real passion for reading and Lit, and is really mild mannered as long as you don't provoke her! Also has a great sense of style :) Most likely to be... a fellow Psychologist. Heh heh!
Navleen - Oh Navleen Navleen, or 'Simba' as Ju Hwee puts it. Very witty with a sense of humour I can't seem to pin down -- it's unique in a way but it's oh-so-funny. Intellectual, smart and somehow always seems to be punctuating her sentences with light laughter. Most likely to be ... Aiyoh, hard to say. You tell me!
Rachel - Well she said I was introspective, but I think she too, is very introspective. Sensible, and very musically inclined! Love to talk to her over meals because I always gain a fresh perspective of things. If you don't know her you'd say she's quiet, but again there's always more to a seemingly quiet person than meets the eye! Most likely to be ... an economist, or a musician.
Shiying -I'll never forget her tendencies to go 'Yo! Yo! Yo!', Mr Chou. style. Another fan of Mr Chou., and has really lovely dimples that girls would kill to have. Has a sense of humour similar to that of Navleen and is, in a word, adorable. Most likely to be ... hmmm... a stand up comedienne? No 1. Chou. fan?
Ting Xi - Tingxi the enigma, that's what I always think. She's seeeeemingly quiet (I say so 'cos I don't really know), but is really an interesting individual. She likes wilted roses :) Now that's a special girl. Another artist. Measured and calm with sporadic bouts of madness. Most likely to be... The next big female artist!
Hsin Ching - SISTER! Sister, oh sister - she was really very quiet and mostly kept to herself in the beginning, but after Kuantan this year, we saw a new side of her! A mad, laughing sister who loves to sleep, sit in the corner (I was so shocked when she literally climbed over tables and chairs just so she could grab the corner seat). Also an animal-lover, seeing how she took care of a little kitten last year. Most likely to be ... Sailor? Girl guide? Musician? Dreamer? I don't know!
Vanessa - Vanessa the crazed! Again another one who has sporadic bouts of madness, and when she goes mad, she really goes mad. Stay at least 10m away from Jean and her when they start laughing, no, screeching, together! Haha! Though she can be mad, she can also be very very introspective when she calms down. A Lit genius! Also the one whom we suspect of having an infatuation with KNOWLEDGABLE MEN... hahahahaha! Most likely to be... hmm. This one is tricky... definitely not a 9 to 5 kind of girl, that's for sure!
Yiming - Yiming whom I have gone with to UK and Italy, 2 of the most memorable trips I've ever made overseas! Intelligent, a thinker, has her eccentric moments, and extremely mature. Talking to her is really refreshing! Not unlike some people in my class, she has her moments of madness (like in the UK. I have a video to prove it...) and is very talented in musique! Oh, and I have to add, she's really articulate! Most likely to be ... a news anchor with CNN/BBC. Or a journalist. Either or!
Phew that was a lot to write... and well before you start butchering me, I'm going to say that everything up there is just based on my own opinions - I may be wrong, so if you want to protest, protest away in the comment box. :) These 2 years are the best years of my life although it has been so academically rigorous - all because I'm in such a great class. I'm sure college life would suck big time if I was in the wrong class... so it's all kudos to you people that I'm still sane. Will miss you guys a lot! And before I end, a picture to sum it all up...
