Spinning: Drops of Jupiter -- Tanya Chua (Train Cover)
I didn't intend to update, actually. But somehow blogger's 'create post' window is staring back at me and I feel obliged to post something.
I don't know why, but I seem to appreciate reading blogs more than writing blogs now. It used to be the other way round just a year ago. I feel like all the narcissism has drained from me. But of course that's not true. You didn't believe that statement did you...?

I'm confused. Things like
these do the strangest things to you. Irrationality is one of them. And its so confusing; because I've always thought of myself as being one of the most rational people in the world. Within my social circle, at least. Ever the 'serious' one, the 'quiet' one, the 'sensible' one. Those have changed somewhat. Those anomalies come every now and then, like PMS. But then again PMS is predictable. These are not predictable events. I'm babbling, I know. Shoot me, someone.

I had a splitting headache (dareIsay
migraine) yesterday night, so much so the moment I finished washing up after school, I hit the sack and slept for 13 freaking hours. Talk about oversleeping. And oversleep I did, because I was supposed to visit Amande in CGH today together with Jean, Benjamin, Mabel, Xiao Ting and Zhu Hui at 10 am. For those who don't know, Amande's down with tonsilitis. Fortunately she doesn't have to undergo any operation to remove anything. :S So get well soon Amande; and take care. Don't roll around that drip too much.
4 of us (Jean, Benjamin, Zhu Hui and me) trooped down to Starbucks Siglap to mug. Trendy, eh? The tables were ridiculously tiny, the space so constrictive there wasn't any for my feet, the toilet door was banging its hinges away, and it was relatively noisy, too. But I managed to study more than usual. Ah. Now I'm discovering something about myself! It remains to be seen whether I can study better in a noisy environment, though. Try making noise when I'm doing Math and you'd be headless in a second. I bite. Ohho, yes I do.
The completion of an extra 7 chapters of Atwood's novel wasn't the only thing I'd gained, though. There were a few other interesting revelations. Good news or not, I really cannot judge as yet. :S

I am so looking forward to Mardi Gras. And lately I've been obsessed with the song "Drops of Jupiter" by Train. Unabashedly I confess that I've been singing along to it really loudly at night! Look:
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind
Was it everything you wanted to find
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you
Even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance,
five-hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had... and me
You JUST have to sing it! So many mythical metaphors, so many symbols. Oh damn it's a great song. So many possible interpretations of it too... that's the beauty of it. I'd better stop before this whole post turns into a song-lyric posting. BUT I LOVE IT!
